Yay! I got connected and the post is up! Now I need a nap.
Yesterday was a long day and I ended it with a 4 hour drive to visit family and then pulled an all nighter. I spent the whole night holding my sweet baby nephew between feedings.
Last week, I painted the hallway, refinished the bench and the hallway rugs arrived.
I've been admiring the Beni Ourain style rugs for a while but for some reason I was afraid of them. Yes I know that's stupid.
I'm so glad I went for it!
This is the West Elm Souk 2.5'x7' Runner.
Remember the look I was going for here?
Just to give you a better idea of the pattern's scale and chunkiness.
Notice a lot of my walls are bare? I've been apprehensive about hanging anything, or cluttering things up too much. I'll get around to it eventually.
Here is a better look at the West Elm Kasbah 2.5'x7' Runner.
These West Elm rugs have a really chunky texture that I love.
I coated the inside and bottom of the bench with KilZ. Who knows what was kept in there once upon a time. If my kids are going to be digging in there, I want it clean.
I used Annie Sloan Graphite, dark wax and then clear. I did NOT clear wax first. Rubbing the dark wax on first allows it to warm up the graphite. It had already been a charcoal color but it needed refinishing.
Here is a pinnable finish recipe!
Here are some things I like to keep handy for easy grabs as I walk out the door.
I also got this Anthropologie Lattice Flokati Runner. Not sure if it staying there, but I think the rug is pretty amazing!
My mom gave me a stink face about this image. So there's that. Thanks mom.
There it is!
Have a wonderful week everyone!
I don't get a lot of time to put my blog posts together so I do what I can. That being said, if I left anything out, tell me!
